On August 22nd, 2016, Can Tho University (CTU) was honorable to welcome and work with the Taiwanese delegation of K-12 Education Administration, Ministry of Education and Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh city to exchange the contents of cooperation between Teacher Practice High School of CTU and high schools in Taiwan.

Representing CTU’s side, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Thanh Toan, Rector sent warm greeting to the delegation of K-12 Education Administration, Ministry of Education and Taipei Economic Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City, Taiwan. With the desire that the partnership between CTU, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City and Taiwanese universities and schools will have new highlights by further implemented cooperation activities, CTU proposed cooperation possibilities  between CTU’s Teacher Practice High School and those of Taiwan.

Accordingly, Teacher Practice High School was established on October 12th, 2011, with 17 staff members. It has 02 batches of students graduating from high school and attending universities and colleges with a high rate of 75% of batch 1 and 90% of batch 2. In the 2015-2016 school year, 93.31% students achieve good results in studying. Teacher Practice High School strives to become the model high school to meet the training needs of high quality human resources for the Mekong Delta region and the country and have expanding international exchanges. Then, Teacher Practice High School suggested some possibilities for cooperation with Taiwanese high schools.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Tzu-Teng Huang, Director General of K-12 Education Administration, Ministry of Education of Taiwan gave special thanks to the warm welcome from CTU and suggested further strengthening the cooperation relationship between CTU and Taiwanese partners through the expansion of Chinese language teaching, cultural and educational exchanges, and cooperation programs between universities and schools. Mr. Tzu-Teng Huang believed that CTU would be the best connection point between the Mekong Delta region with universities of Taiwan in the future.
